Maritime Workshops
Pon De Reef, led by David Taylor, explores Bequia’s rich maritime heritage while equipping youth with essential ocean-based skills. The program blends hands-on learning in snorkelling, traditional fishing techniques, seamanship, water safety, and coastal navigation—reviving ancestral knowledge while fostering a deeper connection to the sea and its significance in island life.
In addition, youth will learn about traditional boating education, how to set fishing pots, how to spear fish and in general they will gain a better knowledge of the marine ecosystem of our island. The maritime course was offered to 15 youth between the ages of 7 -17 and was supported by Action Bequia.
