Co-Creating our Future
At The Hub, we imagine a bold and holistic future for Bequia.
This vision is part of our decolonial mission — reclaiming the right to tell our stories, shape our futures, and build the spaces that protect and celebrate Bequia’s heritage and creativity for future generations.
Over the next ten years, we aim to:
Design and deliver dynamic, year-round programming that sets a new standard in the country, combining mentorship, psychosocial care, ecological innovation, education, and professional artist development to elevate local talent from early potential to creative leadership.
Grow our in-house music studio — signing regional artists, monetizing their work online, and equipping local events to amplify their voices on-island and beyond.
Expand creative commerce to open up more income-generating opportunities for artists and strengthen The Hub’s financial foundation.
Launch a community radio station to share stories, music, and conversations from Bequia and its allies — by the community, for the community.
Create Bequia’s first ecological community garden, a welcoming environment for gathering, growing, and engaging with the land in new ways. This will be a precursor to developing more home gardens with our local, regional and global partners.
Secure long-term financial sustainability through strategic partnerships, capital campaigns, and strengthening our social enterprise ventures.
Acquire crown land to build a holistic creative centre that brings all our work together — a home for creativity, culture, and community power.
Embed climate justice into everything we do, with programmes that promote ecological knowledge, sustainable practices, and community resilience in the face of environmental change.
Collective visioning, action, and creation are central to how we empower Bequia’s youth, protect our culture, and support the island’s ongoing awakening and liberation.
